Exploring sports, stories, and culture — one season at a time.
My name is Franziska Wulf – but I go by Fran, and I’m currently completing my Master’s in Sports Journalism and Communication at Universidad Europea Real Madrid. Originally from Germany, I grew up in the UK and moved to Madrid to combine my academic background with my passion for international sport, storytelling, and media.
I created this blog to document my experience studying and living in Madrid, while exploring how sports journalism is practiced in one of the most passionate football cities in the world. Through articles on sport, travel, and my daily life, I aim to connect academic insight with real-world experience and showcase my journey in this ever-changing field.
Here, you’ll find reflections on matches and races, analyses from my coursework, cultural observations, and moments from everyday life in Spain’s capital city. Whether you’re a fellow student, a sports fan, or someone curious about living abroad, I hope these stories offer both perspective and inspiration. As I continue this program, I’m developing skills in multimedia reporting, data analysis, and sports communication strategy. My goal is to contribute to international sports media — bringing thoughtful, informed storytelling to the field.
When I’m not in class, at the stadium or at the racetrack, you’ll probably find me writing in a café, planning my next weekend trip, or trying to sound more fluent in Spanish than I really am.
