At this point it is no surprise that Red Bull will do Red Bull things and so when the team revealed their new livery and car for the 2026 season by having a plane fly overhead and tug away the sheet covering the vehicle, nobody was shocked.
The Austrian team is the first to reveal what colours will represent them in the coming races and in preseason testing.
Due to their new engine supplier, Ford, the reveal took place in Detroit, USA although the plane-stunt took place in Czechia and was shown on screens. This is the first time that Red Bull will be building their car and power unit in the same house – a huge move for a team in a rebuilding season. The unveiling event took place in Ford’s Michigan Central Station, matching the team’s urban and still new vibe.
After narrowly missing out on a fifth world championship title, Max Verstappen will be looking to make his mark in the brand-new RB22. His new team mate, Isack Hajaar, however will be hoping for a good first season in a top team, after finishing well in 12th place in his rookie season. Their hopes rest on the new car, which is reminiscent of the 2005 debut Red Bull, with its glossy paint job and lighted shade of blue. Heralding back to their humble beginnings in F1 is a great way to honour their legacy in this sport. The heritage white base of the livery will allow more depth and clarity with the glossy paintjob. This in turn will really bring out the iconic sun and bull logo.
“Seeing the new livery for the first time is one of those special moments, it starts to make you feel excited about the new season. We are going to look spectacular on track! This is a new and significant era for the sport as a whole and for us as a team. We wanted our livery to reflect this, while also giving a nod to Red Bull Racing’s beginnings”, says Team Principle Laurent Makkies.
But not only the livery is new: with the 2026 season come many regulation changes in Formula 1 which all teams must adhere to, which include shorter and more narrow cars.
